Airport support for environmental compliance

Clariant supports our customers' efforts to reduce the environmental impact of their airport operations and reduce costs.

Our EcoTain de-icing fluid recirculation management concept offers an environmentally friendly, cost-effective and sustainable solution for the disposal and reuse of aircraft waste.

As a result, customers can increase cost efficiency and benefit the environment by using up to 60% recycled fluid, minimizing both the need for new materials and energy consumption.

Clariant offers on-site (closed-loop) and off-site aircraft de-icing fluid recycling systems to meet individual airport requirements. On request we can provide a full package of services including design, installation, commissioning, management and operation.

On-site and off-site recycling

Collect wastewater in suitable storage facilities.
Mechanical cleaning (removal of sediment, oil, aviation fuel, etc.)
Chemical cleaning (only required for the "ready to use" ADF concept)
Evaporation of excess water (and distillation of glycol required for the "clean" ADF concept)
Final treatment (adding Clariant ADF additive package)
